photos from lydia + brandon‘s vancouver visit.
most of these are from our little excursion to lynn canyon park.
what a gorgeous spot.
was a lot of fun hanging out with another photographer.
(warning: several of these photos contain the classic ‘photo of another photographer taking a photo’)

but we also took them to a few of my favorite vancouver hangouts (though they aren’t all pictured below).
revolver, old faithful shop, cartems, cafe medina, jj bean… just to name a few.

and a new one for me, union wood co. (thanks brandon for the intro!) their work is just incredible.

winter. wonder. land.

on sunday night,
i was excited for the engagement photo session monday.
a sunny day,
mr  weather network told me.
woke up monday morning:
snow.

glorious snow.

ryan + melissa: 5 year sneak peek

fiance + i spent our weekend in victoria.
(fitting. it was the victoria day long weekend)
took 5 year anniversary photos for my dear friends, ryan + melissa.
(as well as hang out with them, eating delicious food all weekend long)

five years earlier…

five years ago today i photographed my first wedding.
the couple – amazing friends of mine – were the first to trust me with the task of documenting their wedding day.
a great learning experience.
an incredible honor.
i’m so thrilled that i get to take their photos again next weekend in victoria.

cheers to the next 5 years of marriage.

the fiance + i: a little glimpse

a few people asked me for more photos of the fiance.
turns out the talented sister of mine can wield a camera as well as she can a paintbrush.
big thanks to her for lugging my huge camera around in the cold (+ wet) spring weather.
(also for putting up with awkward models)
seriously.
i have so much more sympathy for my clients now.
its hard work ‘being natural’

katie + daniel. california engagement.

katie + daniel are an absolutely adorable couple.
met them in california while i was out there shooting carol + sam’s engagement.
(daniel happens to be samuel’s brother)
loved: katie’s beautiful smile + daniel’s laugh lines.
they laughed a lot.
made my job so easy.
after our session we all (carol + samuel too) ate greek food, then went to their place for games, wine + cheesecake.
best way to end a photoshoot.
