new menu items often need new photos.
when the dirty apron added a few platters to their catering website, they asked me to take some photos.
so we photographed all their platters,
along with a variety of desserts + pastries.
we met before-hand to discuss style of photos
(some of which included perusing donna hay magazines!)
and how to bring a fresh new look to the platters while keeping with the branding of the company.

i’m discovering how much i enjoy this part of the process:
when clients say ‘we want good looking photos,’
i figure out with them what that actually means,
visually,
for their company, goals, + market,
so i can produce photos that both i + my clients will be happy with.

check out how the photos look on the dirty apron’s catering page: dirtyapron.com
but here are some of  my favorites:

roasted cauliflower. recipe project.

i started working at a lovely delicatessen quite recently.
we do ‘staff recipes’ once in a while.
for my recipe i chose to do a simple one with cauliflower, mustard seeds + cumin seeds.
we sell spices in beautifully designed glass jars.
(it was a good excuse to start my collection of pretty spice jars)

i enjoyed the process of creating a recipe.
photographing.
creating.
the recipe is available at the dirty apron blog.
but below are a few more photos i couldn’t resist sharing.

take me back to the top!
