we’ve had some beautiful summer weather lately, but it’s still spring.
below are some absolutely gorgeous blossoms from a few weeks ago.
loved the intensity of the fuchsia color against the pale tan wall.
(don’t forget about my mother’s day promotion...

photos from lydia + brandon‘s vancouver visit.
most of these are from our little excursion to lynn canyon park.
what a gorgeous spot.
was a lot of fun hanging out with another photographer.
(warning: several of these photos contain the classic ‘photo of another photographer taking a photo’)
but we also took them to a few of my favorite vancouver hangouts (though they aren’t all pictured below).
revolver, old faithful shop, cartems, cafe medina, jj bean… just to name a few.
and a new one for me, union wood co. (thanks brandon for the intro!) their work is just incredible.
(above 2 photos taken by lyd)
gorgeous time of year in vancouver.
my friend sharon,
who is traveling at the moment
(yes, i’m jealous)
asked me to take photos of the blossoms for her.
i’m really picky with granola.
i dislike most of the ones in stores.
my mom used to make the best granola.
(probably in part because of all the sugar in it.)
found a recipe that was a little less sweet than my mom’s
(i still love you mom!)
but because i forgot how easy granola is,
it took me about 1/2 a year to get around to making it.
(been on my ‘to do’ list for a … long while)
finally did it last week.
used a recipe from one of my favorite food photographers:
sylvie, from gourmande in the kitchen.
check out her recipe.
*i omited the dried fruit and use a mix of agave syrup and maple to sub for the honey
photo session with robbie vergara screen printing this last week.
t-shirts, aprons, onesies…
& my favorite of the day: napkins.
… because they involve food, of course!
here’s a sneak:
(a little late on this post.)
photographed a beautiful afternoon tea catering event last year.
an elegant tea.
based out of abbotsford, bc.
beautiful scones (scrumptious), savoury bites, delicious treats.
served with tea.
in elegant china.
on sunday night,
i was excited for the engagement photo session monday.
a sunny day,
mr weather network told me.
woke up monday morning:
never thought i was an ice cream person.
i eat it too slowly.
often hurts my teeth.
too many icky ingredients.
chemical stabilizers, etc.
i met earnest.
the beautiful ice cream.
in a jar.
i interviewed earnest ice cream,
and wrote a blog post,
for the dirty apron.
check it out.
(for the full story behind earnest. + more photos)
try earnest ice cream,
you’ll fall in love, too.
this weekend: Vancouver east side culture crawl.
my sister paints paintings.
